So, I’ve been living in London for a couple of months now and i have to say that i really like it! Sometimes i have to stop and think- wow, all of those times where i said i wanted to live in London and now here i am, in one of the best cities in the world, with so much to do and so many places to see!
As amazing as London is it does get a bad rap sometimes, its main complaint is how expensive it is because well.. it is! How busy it is because well.. it is! And how bad the weather is because well.. most of the time it is!
I read a blog post recently which claimed that London itself gets blamed for people’s bad days and i do think its true. If you’re late for work, you say it’s because London is so busy and the tube is so crap, not because you got up late, and you say that the people in London are so rude instead of blaming the fact that maybe you’re just in a bad mood and could be in the Maldives and still think that the people are rude, so maybe we all need to lighten up on London just a little bit??
Anyway, here are a few points (pros & cons) which i think (personally) sum up the reality of living in this crazy, big, incredible city.
Ok, so generally all these points basically sum up my own life in London..
And you could be in a really good job and therefore not having to worry about money (and lucky you!!) or maybe you do actually get dates without being on all the apps (although hardly likely!) but generally for myself, my friends and the people who I’ve met since living here, plus binge reading blogs i think this is a pretty accurate description of life in your early-late 20’s and looking to live in London and this goes for all the native Londoners, as well as the British that have been lured into the South like myself or for all the Kiwi/ Aussie/ Canadian etc etc etc expats currently living here.
It certainly has its down sides which we all like to complain about (especially us Brits as complaining is what we’re good at) but it definitely has some incredible positives too!

I’m a travel addict who has been travelling on and off since 2010. In the Summer of 2018 I quit my office job in London, left my flat and I now travel and blog full time! Yes, I’m living that dream!
