SUNDAY 6TH SEPT – SUNDAY 20TH SEPT 2020
ISLAMABAD – HUNZA – FAIRY MEADOWS – LAHORE – ISLAMABAD
In collaboration with Rover Pakistan
Overview of the Tour
What do you know about Pakistan? Unless you know about the rich culture, the hospitable people and the incredible landscape, what you know about Pakistan may be incorrect, and that’s where this trip comes in!
After visiting Pakistan in 2019 and organising 2 group tours for women to India for 2020, I’m moving onto group tours in Pakistan, for women and men to join!
In September 2020, we’ll spend 2 full weeks travelling from the capital city of Islamabad up into the Northern areas of Pakistan by road. Once we get up North we’ll walk over scary bridges, see ancient forts, hike to fairy meadows, visit the China Pakistan border, eat Apricot and Walnut cake, and above all, have a totally unexpected adventure!
After 9 days in Northern Pakistan, we’ll head back down South for a 1-night stay in Islamabad before continuing further South to Lahore to witness the India Pakistan Wagah Border Ceremony, see Lahore’s famous Mosques and Fort, and eat all the delicious Punjabi food.
Because flights are cheaper and more regular from Islamabad than Lahore, we’ll travel back to the capital city for 1 night before ending the tour the following morning. Meaning a visa and a return flight to and from Islamabad is all you need to get you here.
Myself and the experienced team at Rover Pakistan – a company whose philosophy revolves around pure customer satisfaction and promoting sustainable tourism in Pakistan, will organise the rest!
The tour group size will be 14-16 people plus me (Ellie), our guide and our driver.
Itinerary, Accommodation & Transport
For a day by day breakdown of the itinerary, view the PDF file here!
We will be moving around a lot and moving from place to place quickly but that’s all so that we can show you the best of this area of Pakistan in just 2 weeks and what’s travel without some travelling right?
This itinerary is fixed however we will need to be flexible because the weather, road conditions and various other factors could cause us to change the itinerary last minute. We can’t promise all will go to plan, that’s not how travel works, but we can promise you will have two of the best weeks of your life and make long-lasting memories!
We’ll be doing this whole journey and trip of Pakistan by bus. We’ll have the same bus and driver for 2 weeks which means we can be flexible and ensure that the trip runs as smoothly as possible.
Without a doubt, we will spend a lot of time on this bus, I won’t lie to you, and I ask that you be prepared for this. Internal flights in Pakistan to the Northern Areas of the country are not reliable enough for us to book which is why we will be travelling by road and by bus.
But, with a group of new friends to meet and chat to, plus Pakistans incredible landscape, the journeys will pass quickly enough!
The price of the tour is based on 2 people sharing a room of the same gender and we will aim to get as many twin bedrooms as possible. We will be staying in mid-range hotels throughout the trip.
In the Northern Areas of Pakistan in our accommodation, we may experience some cold showers and lack of internet but we will all be in the same position and disconnecting, and not showering for a day or two is all part of a wild adventure to a country that has not boomed in tourism yet.
After all, that’s why you want to visit Pakistan, isn’t it??

Your Questions Answered
Is Pakistan Safe?
Yes, Pakistan is safe to travel. I travelled to Pakistan in September 2019 and I felt 100% safe. There are some areas of Pakistan not advisable to visit but we will not be visiting these places on this tour.
How Do I Get a Visa for Pakistan?
This is the official Pakistan visa system that you’ll use to get a visa. There are currently 50 countries (viewable here) who can get a visa on arrival, these include Germany, New Zealand and Spain. All remaining countries including the UK and USA will need to apply for a visa and provide a letter of invitation which we will send to you in advance.
You will need to pay for a visa and the current cost is $60.00 but this is subject to change.
What flights should I book?
I recommend looking on Skyscanner for your flights. Day 1 starts at 4:00 pm to visit the mosque and have dinner however this is not compulsory so if you arrive into Islamabad late on 6th September, that is ok. If you arrive early you can relax in the hotel until we leave. You can also arrive on 5th and I will help you book an extra nights accommodation.
We have nothing planned on 20th September so you can leave whenever you like on this day, including very early in the morning. If you would like to stay an extra day I will help you book an extra nights accommodation.
What will the Weather be like in Pakistan in September?
The weather in Northern Pakistan will be perfect in September, it will be cooling down from the Summer heat but not yet too cold. A jumper and coat will be needed, especially for the evenings but it will be t-shirt weather during the day.
Islamabad and Lahore especially will be warmer in September and pretty sweaty during the day, however by leaving Lahore until later in September we will be missing the extreme summer temperatures.
Can I get a Single Room?
If you want a single room, please email me on email@example.com and Rover Pakistan will enquire into availability and a single supplement price.
I have more questions!
No problem, email me on thewanderingquinn@and I’ll be happy to help.
