Hello Tamar, Yes I went there in 2015 alone. I got on fine, I had quite a few stares and cat calls but I didn’t feel unsafe at any time, although of course you still need to be aware of surroundings etc, I didn’t know any Spanish but it would have helped if I did! I’d definitely say to go and not worry, just be careful like everywhere else :)
