Pumpkin Patches Manchester 2026: 18 Places for Pumpkin Picking In and Around Manchester

This post may contain affiliate links. I will receive a small commission if you use these links.

If you are looking for the best pumpkin patches Manchester has to offer this autumn, you are in the right place. I have rounded up 18 farms in and around the city, all checked for their 2026 dates, prices and booking rules.

None of these patches are in the city centre, but most are within a 30 to 50 minute drive, and a handful are right on the doorstep in Trafford, Stockport, Tameside and Bolton. I have grouped them by area so you can find the one closest to you and use the map below to help!

All details were correct for the 2026 season at the time of writing (October 2026). Farms do change things at short notice, especially if the weather turns bad so always check their own website before you set off.

Quick tips for pumpkin picking near Manchester

  • Book early. The big names (Kenyon Hall, Cockfields, Reddish Vale) sell out their weekend and half term slots fast. Most farms are treating Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October 2026 as their busy half term week.
  • Check what your ticket actually covers. Some farms charge per car, some per person, and some include a pumpkin while others price for entry only and no pumpkins. A family of five can pay very different amounts at two farms ten minutes apart.
  • Wellies, always. Even if you doubt it, pack them!
  • Go early in the season for choice, late for atmosphere. The first weekend has the biggest and best pumpkins; half term week has the extra activities and the golden leaves and chillier autumn weather.

Pumpkin patches in Greater Manchester

These six are the closest options for pumpkin picking in Manchester, so you can be in a field in no time

1. Dunham Massey Farm Ice Cream, Altrincham

This little farm on the edge of Dunham Massey pairs its pumpkin field with a parlour churning seasonal ice cream flavours, plus pizza, toasties and hot drinks for anyone who wants something warmer. New for 2026 is a Spooky Maze, and street food vendors pop up on weekends and in the school holidays.

The pricing is refreshingly simple: you pay per car, not per head, which makes it one of the best value days out on this list for bigger families.

Where: Station Road, Dunham Massey, Altrincham WA14 5SG

When: From 26 September 2026

Cost: £6 per car (or per group if you arrive on foot), pumpkins extra

Booking: Online in advance at Dunham Massey Farm Ice Cream

2. Brookheys Farm, Dunham Massey

Brookheys is a proper working farm with a herd of Highland cows that tend to steal the show. A tractor and trailer carries you from the car park to the patch and back, and your ticket also covers the maize maze, Scavenger Hunt, wheelbarrows and lots of photo opportunities.

The ticket doesn’t include any pumpkins. Munchkins cost £1 to £3 and carving pumpkins £3 to £15. Coffees and a range of foods are available to buy.

Where: Sinderland Lane, Dunham Massey, Altrincham WA14 5SY

When: Weekends in October 2026 (check the booking calendar for exact dates and half term slots)

Cost: Around £5.50 per adult and £4.50 per child, under 18 months free; pumpkins extra

Booking: Required, via Brookheys Farm. Weekend slots have sold out in previous years, so do not leave it late.

3. Cockfields Farm, Ashton under Lyne

This is the pumpkin spot to visit for families with young children! Alongside a huge outdoor patch you get tractor rides, a fairground carousel, a Halloween show and, new for 2026, a spooky walk through. It is pitched as magical rather than scary, so it works for little ones.

Two things make it stand out. On term time weekdays there is a mini indoor pumpkin patch designed for toddlers, which is a lifesaver on a rainy Tuesday. Then from 23 to 31 October the farm reopens after dark, with the patch lit by festoon lights, live music, food stalls, a spooky disco and one free pumpkin with every ticket.

Where: Ashton and Oldham border, OL6 8AR

When: Saturday & Sundays and mid-week during school holidays only

Cost: From £21.96 for adults and over 1’s for early bird tickets

Booking: Required, via Cockfields Farm

4. Reddish Vale Farm, Stockport

Reddish Vale turns its whole farm into a Halloween festival for three weeks. Children’s tickets include a pumpkin to pick and carve, and the day is packed with Halloween games, fairground rides, costumed characters and a Witch and Wizard Magic Show. The Spooky Express tractor ride costs extra but is worth it for younger kids.

For something with a bit more glow, the Moonlit Pumpkin Evenings run on a handful of nights with live music and roaming characters, and there is a Sanderson Sisters special on 30 and 31 October for the Hocus Pocus fans.

Where: Reddish Vale Farm, Stockport SK5 7HE

When: Daytime festival 10 to 31 October 2026; Moonlit evenings 17, 24 and 25 October, 5pm to 8pm

Cost: £16.00 for Children including pumpkin, £14.50 for adults

Booking: Required, via Reddish Vale Farm

5. Smithills Open Farm, Bolton

Smithills keeps things flexible. You can book a pumpkin on its own if you just want to grab one and go, or add farm entry for the full Halloween experience (we went recently and the donkey ride was a huge hit for my toddler). During half term week they are ramping things up with a spooky sweet hunt, staff dressed up, Halloween decorations and a children’s fancy dress competition, so pack the costumes.

With the West Pennine Moors right behind it, it is also a lovely spot to tack on a short autumn walk onto the day.

Where: Smithills Dean Road, Bolton BL1 7NS

When: 17 and 18 October, then daily 24 to 31 October 2026

Cost: £6 per pumpkin / £13.50 adult and £11.50 child over 2 for full experience.

Booking: Pumpkins must be booked in advance via Smithills Open Farm

6. Winstanley Park, Wigan

Winstanley Park is the easy, no pressure option in Wigan: there is nothing to book and nothing to pay to get in, you just pay for the pumpkins you pick. The patch has moved to a new spot in the park this autumn, and there is a Halloween party on 31 October if you want to end the season in style.

It leans into the photo opportunities with roaming scarecrows, decorated hay bales and a selfie station, and fancy dress is actively encouraged, with spot prizes for the best costumes. Last year also brought a crafting station for little ones (small extra charge), with food and drinks on weekends and in the school holidays.

Where: Winstanley Park, Winstanley, Wigan

When: October 2026, with a Halloween party on 31 October (full 2026 dates still to be confirmed)

Booking: Not needed. Updates via Winstanley Park Events

7. Kenyon Hall Farm, Warrington

Kenyon Hall is the one everyone talks about, and for good reason. The family have been growing pumpkins here for over 30 years, and this season thousands of pumpkins are spread across the fields with a colourful, festival-style atmosphere and new interactive elements for 2026.

The photo spots are the real draw for anyone here with inside and outside displays available. I found the inside displays really helpful with a young toddler last year.

Tickets are essential and they sell out fast. They do not accept walk ins. Afterwards, browse the autumn market and grab a spiced latte or pumpkin soup in the café. The farm shop, café and play area however, are free to visit without a pumpkin ticket.

The animals are part of the ticket, with pigs, sheep, calves and donkeys to meet, and there are plenty of photo spots dotted around the barn. Pricing is per car and there are lots of food options available.

The team have added new props and themed photo opportunities for 2026 and they admit they have gone a bit prop mad this year! The kids play area, takeaway kitchen, and farm shop are available for everyone who is pumpkin picking too and then you just pay for the pumpkins you pick.

What makes it special is the calendar of little extras. Giant pumpkins appear on the opening weekend, there are quieter SEN sessions on 10 and 11 October from 9am to 10am, and every Friday evening the paths are candlelit for pumpkin picking under the stars. During half term a golden pumpkin is hidden in the patch each day, and whoever finds it wins a barrow full of pumpkins. There is even a pumpkin spa to wash off the mud before it hits your car.

On Saturdays and Sundays there is a gourmet BBQ, and the Halloween Maize Maze Challenge next door (we did it last summer, it’s a lot of fun) makes it easy to stretch the visit into an afternoon, and tickets are needed for this.

Note that you do need to pay for park and farm entry to be allowed into the pumpkin patch.

The real bonus is everything around it. With a huge deer park, formal gardens and the mansion all on the same estate, you can walk off the mud afterwards and turn it into a whole autumn afternoon.

These pumpkin patches near Manchester sit a little further out, roughly 1 hour from the city in various directions but they are worth the drive and you can look to make a full day out in the area when visiting them.

13. Pye Ash Farm, Macclesfield

Pye Ash is the highest rated pumpkin patch in the North West with an undercover pumpkin maze, which is pushchair and wheelchair friendly and a genuine relief when the forecast is grim. Outside there is still a proper patch to pick from with all pumpkins grown at the farm, plus a pumpkin nature trail.

There are lots of farm extras too: sheepdog demonstrations, ride on tractors, face painting and animals to meet. There are more food vendors this year and marshmallow toasting to finish. Note that dogs are not allowed. And unlike last year, booking in 2026 is required.
