There are quite a few Aparthotels in Manchester to choose from but Wilde Aparthotels Manchester has to be at the top for their amazing location, stylish rooms, great facilities, helpful staff and great price point!

I live in Manchester but I recently stayed in the city centre for a bit of a staycation and booked last minute to stay at Wilde Aparthotels Manchester St. Peters Square which is part of the Staycity Aparthotels brand.

With playful and inspirational quotes inspired by Oscar Wilde around the room and aesthetically pleasing decor, I really enjoyed staying here.

So, let me show you around this great Manchester Aparthotel and tell you why I enjoyed it so you can see if it’s good for you too!

Aparthotel Manchester

First let’s cover, what an ‘Aparthotel’ is because I feel like it’s a fairly new word for accommodation.

Aparthotel means an apartment or studio within a hotel.

It means that you get all the facilities of a hotel like a 24 hour in-person reception, luggage storage, breakfast available, amenities in the room, but you also get more facilities than a hotel room like a kitchen and depending on the size, a living area, dining area and separate bedroom.

There are many apartments in Manchester to stay in but if you book via Airbnb you can often be faced with not having someone to speak to in person, having no where to store luggage if you arrive early or leave late, no option of getting food anywhere but outside and basically not having the help you need like you get in a hotel.

So an ‘Aparthotel’ mixes the best of apartment living within a hotel environment, and that’s exactly what Wilde Aparthotels Manchester does too!

Wilde Aparthotels Manchester Studios & Apartments

Wilde Aparthotels Manchester is part of the Staycity Aparthotels brand. Staycity is Europe’s Premier Served Apartments Company offering unbeatable rates for apartment accommodation in major cities in Europe.

There are 2 Staycity Aparthotels in Manchester City Centre: Staycity Aparthotels Manchester Piccadilly & Staycity Aparthotels Manchester Northern Quarter.

Staycity Aparthotel vs Wilde Aparthotel

The difference between a Staycity Aparthotel and their branded Wilde Aparthotels is that the decor in Wilde is much more design led and definitely suits mid-aged and older guests or couple looking to relax in the city, whereas Staycity is more on the end of budget aparthotels in Manchester, they don’t benefit from as much style and attract a younger crowd and groups of friends staying in Manchester.

Wilde Aparthotels Manchester Studio

Wilde Aparthotels Manchester have a range of apartments available in different sizes. You can see all of the options on offer on booking.com here which is how I booked my stay and is how I make all of my hotel bookings!

I booked the Wilde Studio because I was there on my own and wanted to book the cheapest apartment available (I paid £83.00 for a week night booking just 2 days before) , however on arrival they upgraded me to the Wilde Studio sleeping 3 people which was a nice surprise and is the studio in my photos on this review.

Things I loved about the Studio:

The decor was clean, modern, fresh and playful! I loved all of the Oscar Wilde quotes and how the room amenities and local information were sat on small shelves instead of on a desk or side table like traditional hotels and postcards had been used to give hotel information…. although if one didn’t look properly at these you may think they were only decoration and therefore that no information was given in the room!

Having a kitchen can be a real money saver and time saver, especially if staying in an apartment for a few days and the kitchen was a really good size with all the amenities needed. I was impressed by the Smeg toaster and kettle and the coffee machine with pods!

Whats a good room without a comfy bed and I’m happy to report the bed was very comfy!

All in all, the room decor, cleanliness and facilities were totally up to scratch in my opinion and from my experience staying in this Aparthotel in Manchester, especially for the great value price!

As I mention below, looking at the positives of the entire property, I also loved the fitness centre available, the cafe and bar area which is ultra chic, the location and helpful staff.

Things I didn’t love about the Studio:

Unfortunately I did have a bit of a bad sleep due to the noise above and around me. I seem to have had some drunk people in the room above who kept dropping things that caused a loud noises on my ceiling. It did seem a shame that the company went to all this effort with decorating but didn’t noise proof very well.

Manchester is a popular night out, especially on the weekends, so if you are in Manchester to party and have a late night, this is fine for you!

If you’re not, I would ask for a quieter room and if you are a particularly light sleeper, avoid staying here on the weekends when lots of party groups often stay in Manchester.

My studio was suitable for 3 people to sleep, two in the double bed and one on the sofa bed. I would say that with the sofa bed pulled out the room becomes very small and having 3 people socialise in there and get ready together would be tight! Although splitting the cost between 3 people makes for a really affordable stay!

Some rooms seem to have unobstructed views of the city which look amazing, unfortunately my room did face onto an office and I was there mid-week so people were at work in the office. This made me keep the light set of curtains closed the whole time.

To avoid this you could ask reception for a room with an unobstructed view and staying here on the weekend would mean the offices are likely closed and therefore there’s no fear of people seeing you get dressed!

Wilde Aparthotels Manchester Location

This Aparthotel in Manchester is in such an amazing location! It’s right next to Manchester Library which is a beautiful round building in the city centre with Manchesters Town Hall really close by too!

St Peters Square Tram Stop is a 1 minute walk away, so are plenty of places to eat and get a coffee like Black Sheep Coffee which is 20 seconds from the door.

Manchester is a fairly small city but staying central and in a good area of the city is important. The Northern Quarter, Piccadilly, and Arndale are popular places to visit in Manchester but I have stayed around these areas and I didn’t like it as they can get really busy and the buildings can be very old.

Staying around St Peter’s Square in Wilde Aparthotels Manchester is nothing like that and that’s why I really liked it!

Wilde Aparthotels Manchester Staff

I really do have to add in a dedicated section to the staff at Wild Aparthotels Manchester because they were really fantastic.

There seemed to be a member of staff downstairs at all times during the day to welcome guests via the red carpet which was a nice touch.

Upstairs the receptionist was really friendly in taking my bag to storage, giving me an upgrade and generally being very happy and nice.

I did have an issue in my room with the lights so I contacted reception via the QR code they had given me on check-in, this linked straight to WhatsApp where I could message them and they were quick to respond in the day and night.

To apologise for the disturbance because of the light issue they gave me complimentary breakfast the next day which was a lovely touch as gestures like this go a long way to help create a good stay.

Wilde Aparthotels Manchester Facilities

The benefit of staying in an Aparthotel means the facilities of a hotel and despite Wilde’s great value price point they do have great facilities and more than a standard apartment building.

Luggage storage was secure and there was not a problem with me arriving early to leave my case in storage and again the next day when I checked out.

I was incredibly surprised to see a fitness room / gym on the same floor as reception with a really good amount of equipment for a hotel gym.

I was also really pleasantly surprised to see the cafe / bar / common area alongside reception. The decor here is really lovely and colourful and the view over the city was really great!

If you pay a fairly low and good value price to stay at Wilde Aparthotels Manchester, you’ll be impressed by the view you get your breakfast or coffee with in the morning, that’s for sure!
