Best Places To Go in a Campervan in Europe
Being one of the most picturesque countries in Europe, Croatia is a must-visit destination for every traveller. The natural beauty of the country is breathtaking, and its rich history and unique culture create a true tourist paradise.
The main reason why Croatia is one of the best places to go in a Campervan in Europe is because Croatia is not that big, you can easily drive the whole country, going from one place to another in a short amount of time. It’s also close to countries like Bosnia, Albania and Slovenia which are also great countries to travel by campervan in Europe!
The must-see places in Croatia include Dubrovnik and the Dalmatia, Split, Zadar, Plitvice Lakes and Trakoscan castle.
2. Tuscany, Italy
If you’re looking for a more sophisticated trip to enjoy Europe’s culture, your best choice is Italy, and to be more precise, Tuscany.
Located in the central part of the country, the whole region is soaked in Italian culture, and picturesque countryside which will create an unforgettable campervan experience in Europe.
Driving in Italy is a popular way for tourists to get around anyway so travelling Italy by campervan is a safe way to get around the country and Tuscany itself.
The best places to visit in Tuscany include the region’s capital Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, and many more.
3. Mazuria, Poland
Now it’s time for the least known destination on this list of best places to go in a Campervan in Europe, but it’s definitely worth visiting, epecially if you like to travel to unique places in Europe!
Mazuria, which lies in the northeast of Poland, is the country’s pearl in the crown. The overwhelming number of lakes and forests create a breathtaking experience and probably not what you expect Poland to look like.
Mazuria is a region with a rich history and reflects what’s best in Polish culture. Mix that with the picturesque wilderness, and you get the perfect tourist destination and the perfect place to travel by Campervan in Europe.
The must-see landmarks in Mazuria are Śniardwy Lake (the biggest lake in Poland), Malbork castle, Hitler’s military headquarters- the Wolf’s Lair and a whole lot of wilderness!
4. Bavaria, Germany
The largest German state, Bavaria, is also one of the most beautiful places to visit in Europe. It’s a region with a unique and proud culture, rich history, and many picturesque landscapes.
The well-maintained German highways make Germany and Bavaria, in particular, the best places to go in a Campervan in Europe because your journeys will be safe, smooth and comfortable.
Places to visit in Bavaria on your German road trip are Munich, Linderhof Palace, Regensburg, Lake Constance, the famous and iconic Neuschwanstein Castle and Fussen.
5. Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is one of the most visited countries in Europe, with more than 20 million tourists visiting it every year. And to be fair, it’s easy to see why, as the country is incredibly beautiful.
Most people only visit Prague, but the Czech Republic offers so many more places to visit too. Kutna Hora, Karlstejn Castle, and the whole region of Moravia is worth seeing, and Cesky Krumlov is easily one of my favourite places in Europe!
Another main reason by the Czech Republic is one of the best places to go in a Campervan in Europe is because it is a small country with excellent roads and good connections to nearby European Countries like Austria, Slokavia, Germany and Poland.
Many people may note expect the UK to be a great place for a camper van trip in Europe but it does offer so much and benefits hugely from good roads and how small the country is and therefore how easy it is to see a lot in a short time.
The UK has endless coastline and the most popular place to go in a campervan in the UK for the ocean is Cornwall with it’s many incredible beaches and good vibe. The UK also has mountain areas like Snowdonia National Park in Wales and the Lake District and Peak District in the UK and Scotland gives you the Highlands.
There are many road trips from London you can do to Historic villages and towns like Stonehenge, the Cotswolds and Kent.
Travelling in a motorhome and campervan is a fantastic experience, and if you’re considering it for your next holiday or staycation, you won’t be disappointed. Keep in mind that the examples given above are just a few of the best places to go in a Campervan in Europe as Europe is full of beautiful places whether you want cities, towns, lakes, mountains or ocean.
When planning your Campervan trip around Europe, keep in mind each individual countries restrictions and their different entry laws, driving laws and sleeping in a campervan law, don’t go thinking that all of Europe is the same.
When it comes to where to find a campervan, it seems like everyone is renovating one at the moment for #vanlife but you don’t have to do that or have to splash huge amounts of cash on a brand new motorhome. There are plenty of companies like Oaktree Motorhomes who offer great deals or top-quality, used RVs. It’s also possible to rent one if you don’t want to buy, so you have a few options for your European road trip and Europe campervan trip for an adventure of a lifetime.
