Review of Shahpura House Jaipur | Luxury Hotel in the Heart of Jaipur!

Located in the heart of Jaipur is Shahpura House, one of the best luxury Heritage Hotels in Jaipur, I spent 2 nights there at the start of my trip to Jaipur and what a welcome to Jaipur it was!

On arrival I was whisked from my rickshaw and greeted with a beautiful smelling Orange Flower Garland before being taken into one of the most impressive sitting rooms I have seen.

Shahpura House Jaipur Rajasthan is decorated in a mix of Mughal, Rajasthani and Indian styles making it look like the inside of one of the many Palaces of Rajasthan but this time instead of seeing the beautiful decorations, the impressive architecture and then leaving, I got to stay there!

It gives Mughal vibes

I was given a Suite on the third floor. The third floor has a balcony area for all rooms to use which looks over the City however because I was in a suite I had an additional private terrace area outside my door which was a really nice place to enjoy a quiet morning tea.

My room was extremely elegant and very fitting with the decor used in the rest of the hotel. My Suite had a small living area with 3 comfy antique chairs and a coffee table which led into the bedroom where an impressive and very comfy 4 poster bed sat. The bathroom was nearly as big with all the amenities I needed, plus more, and a huge shower!

As well as offering a range of Suites Shahpura Hotels Jaipur has Deluxe Double rooms which are extremely good value and start from as little as 1900Rs / £19.00 for 2 people including breakfast with the Suites starting at 3800Rs / £40.00 including breakfast which is really great value for the quality of the hotel, bedroom and amenities!

For the best hotel in Jaipur be sure to check availability and book a stay at Shahpura House Hotel. It is a small property with just 65 rooms and is an extremely popular hotel in Jaipur and resort in Jaipur so be sure to make your booking in advance which you can do here now

Hotel Shahpura House Jaipur is the perfect hotel to stay at in Jaipur because it is located just 4km away from the Pink City and 12km away from the Forts meaning it is very possible and very easy to visit Jaipur’s best attractions but still enjoy the outdoor swimming pool that is located on the ground floor, the spa, and the quiet Haveli grounds.

To be honest after visiting the Pink City I wouldn’t fancy staying in this area of Jaipur and although there are a lot of hotels in Jaipur in the Pink City it is very busy so I personally think its best to stay out of the Centre but still be in Jaipur City which is what Shahpura Jaipur offers.

I arranged a rickshaw to take me around Amber Palace, Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort but Shahpura Hotel Jaipur can also arrange for an 8 hour city tour taking in all of the best places to visit in Jaipur so if you are short on time or would rather see the City in one day and relax for your second day in Jaipur this would be a good idea. I later found out that Jaipur has so much to see and a mode of transport is needed to see it all so seeing everything in one day will be tiring but is actually a really good idea!

Unfortunately Shahpura Hotel Jaipur is not located close to many restaurants although it is easy to take a taxi or rickshaw somewhere for Dinner. Luckily the hotel has 2 restaurants, one open all day downstairs serving mostly International Cuisine which can be eaten in the restaurant or by the pool, and a second restaurant on the 5th floor rooftop with a great view of the City and Nahargarh Fort which is open for Dinner only.

BOOKING TRAINS IN INDIA

India is best travelled by train because its the quickest, cheapest and best way of getting to know the country. For an EASY option of booking trains in India use 12GO to search and book trains really easily. If you’ll be in India for awhile, you can use the local booking system, it’s a bit tricker but possible, here’s my post on how to book trains in India as a tourist.

BEST ACCOMMODATION IN INDIA

I always use Booking.com to book my hotels in India and Hostelworld to book my hostels. India has a great range of accommodation with brilliant hostel chains like Moustache, Zostel and Backpacker Panda as well as homestays to luxury hotels.

GUIDED TOURS IN INDIA

Many cities in India are best seen with a guide, even if it’s just a half day tour on your first day. Cities in India are chaotic and complex and what better way to taste the food and get to know the city than with a local. I recommend Get Your Guide & Viator for the best tours in India!

Every evening from 19:00-21:00 Shahpura Hotel welcomes local Rajasthani Dancers and Musicians performing the Bhavai Dance, a folk dance that is performed by Women. It includes tricky balancing acts and the balancing of up to 9 pots of their head. The men play the music and it is incredible to see.

If you are visiting India and doing the Golden Triangle and therefore Jaipur is the only place in Rajasthan you are visiting, seeing the traditional folk dance at Shahpura House Hotels is a must because it is great to see this old historic entertainment.

Additionally alongside the Dancers and Musicians on most nights is a Puppeteer. Kathputli is a string puppet theatre, also native to Rajasthan and is the most popular form of Indian puppetry. It is amazing to see the performance and he brings along many puppets which he sells and they make a great souvenirs because of their meaningfulness, size and price.

Despite Jaipur being a very big and busy city with a lot of noise I slept incredibly well at Shahpura House Jaipur. I think it was also to do with the luxurious sheets which smelt wonderful, I don’t think I’ve had such good smelling sheets before!

Breakfast is in the ground floor restaurant and the buffet is rather extensive offering all sorts of Indian Foods, English Breakfast Foods, American Breakfast Foods, Fruits, Cereals, Omelet from an Omelet making stand and an array of drinks including pre-made Lassi’s, because this is India after all!

Breakfast at Shahpura House Jaipur offers guests a great way to taste many different local foods in a buffet form and work out what you like and don’t like.

Before I knew it I had to leave Shahpura House Jaipur Rajasthan but I left feeling very relaxed and extremely well looked after as as much as the House is beautiful from the inside and the outside, the staff, just like at Shahpura Kumbhal Villas are the Hotel and Companies biggest asset.

They are extremely friendly, hospitable and accommodating and all speak English very well so I found that there was clear communication throughout.

As well as Jaipur House Shahpura Hotels have Shahpura Haveli in the Village of Shahpura and Shahpura Kumbhal Villas in Kumbhalgarh where I also spent 2 nights whilst on my trip through Rajasthan. Shahpura Hotels have plans to open more hotels including a Udaipur Hotel so be sure to keep up to date with their new openings.
