Things To Do in Saundersfoot
In this Wales travel guide and Wales blog post I’m going to tell you what to do in Saunderfoot and give you ideas on places to eat in Saunderfoot so whether you’re camping in Saundersfoot, staying in a nearby cottage in Saunderfoot or visiting for a day trip to Saundersfoot.
You’ll soon know how to enjoy this beautiful part of the Pembrokeshire Coastline.
1. Visit Saundersfoot Beach
Saunderfoot Beach is one of the best beaches in Pembrokeshire thanks to it being a huge golden sand beach! The beach has many blue flag areas making it a good and safe beach for swimming, especially if you’re bringing children to Saundersfoot.
Saunderfoot Beach is also dog friendly.
I love walking along Welsh Beaches with the dogs in the winter months as well as visiting the beach in the Summer and Saunderfoot is a good beach for walking your dog all year round so if you need things to do in Saundersfoot in the rain, get a rain jacket on and head to the beach still!
Instead of parking in Saundersfoot by the harbour, if you want to walk along the beach, I suggest parking in the Coast Restaurant car park and from there you are treated to a nice short walk along the beach to get to Saundersfoot Village.

2. See Saundersfoot Harbour
Right next to the beach and Saunderfoot village is Saunderfoot Harbour.
Depending on whether you visit during high tide Saunderfoot or low tide in Saunderfoot will depend if the harbour actually has water in or not.
When I visited it was low tide and it was very funny seeing the boats with no water around them!
There are lots of benches around the harbour road which look out onto the beach and ocean and they are a great place to sit with an ice cream!
3. Walk around Saundersfoot Village
Saundersfoot village is a hive of activity, especially in the summer months.
It is a true seaside village with lots of places to get ice cream and fish and chips, as well as having shops in Saundersfoot for your typical beach equipment like buckets and spades.
However these days, Saundersfoot Village has a reputation for high-quality restaurants and cafes in the village serving local Pembrokeshire produce so you will definitely find some good places to eat in Saundersfoot.
Saundersfoot also offers nice shops if shopping in Saundersfoot is what you are looking over.
Overall, in terms of eating out in Saundersfoot and shopping in Saundersfoot, the village really does cater to all people, tastes and budgets.
4. Top Restaurants in Saundersfoot
Planning your day out in Saundersfoot or your Saundersfoot holiday around food is a good idea! When it comes to where to eat in Saundersfoot, the top highly rated restaurants to visit are:
- The Boat House
- Coast Restaurant

- HARBWR Bar & Kitchen
- Kookaba Restaurant
5. See a View of Saundersfoot Beach
To see a really good view of all of Saundersfoot Beach, the village, harbour and the Pembrokeshire coast line in the distance, walk up the main road that goes through the town around the back of the beach.
The main road starts to go up hill which is tough but the view at the top is totally worth it.
This road is the start of the Saundersfoot to Tenby walk which I tell you about further down because if you’re looking for things to do in Saundersfoot and Tenby, walking between them is a good Saundersfoot thing to do.
If you want to keep walking and see an even better view, start heading into the woodland via the track and you’ll soon see a view of the whole of Saundersfoot Bay.
Once you are ready to turn back, you can easily walk back down into Saundersfoot village and get a well deserved ice cream!

6. Go to Wiseman’s Bridge
Saunderfoot Beach is not the only beach in the area, for more things to do near Saundersfoot you can head to Wiseman’s Bridge which is slightly North up the Coast from Saundersfoot for another beautiful beach that also allows dogs.
Wiseman’s Bridge Beach doesn’t have a town as big as Saundersfoot but the rocky beach and all the tunnels by the beach make up for that and act as top Saunderfoot attractions.
7. Walk from Saundersfoot to Wiseman’s Bridge
For more ideas on what to do in Saundersfoot, you can actually walk from Saundersfoot Beach to Wiseman’s Bridge Beach and the walk is pretty unique because you have to walk under a series of tunnels!
Head to Copper Hall Beach first via a tunnel, and then there are 2 more tunnels to go under before reaching Wiseman’s Bridge from Saundersfoot!
This is a great walk to do if you want a little and relaxing walk. Below I give more of ideas of things to do around Saundersfoot which is the Saundersfoot to Tenby walk however this walk is much longer and more intense.
